ÖYKÜ TÜZ
Artist • Art Therapy Practitioner • Founder

Hello, I’m Öykü.
I graduated from the Painting Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. I developed a multidisciplinary artistic practice through working in different fields such as sculpture, drawing, fresco, mosaic, and digital art.
For me, art has never been only a space for personal creation. Over time, I became increasingly aware of how art can create space for self-expression, emotional contact, and making the inner world visible. This interest led me toward the field of art therapy.
In 2020, I was accepted into the art therapy program within the Department of Psychiatry at Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Medicine. During this training, I gained experience working with individuals with different needs in the field of mental health; at the same time, I continued to lead art-based workshops with children and adolescents.
During this period, the art therapy-focused project I developed was supported by Apple, presented at the 58th National Psychiatry Congress, and later accepted into the academic literature.
Today at State Studio, I bring together my fourteen years of artistic practice with the perspective I gained through my art therapy training. My aim is to create a safe, creative, and curiosity-inspiring space for children; and a balanced, supportive space where adolescents can express themselves.
Because I believe that when art comes together with play and storytelling, it opens a powerful path for children and adolescents to express who they are.
